JAMB CAPS Overview
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) introduced CAPS to streamline the admission process.
This system offers transparency and reduces manual errors, helping universities, polytechnics, and colleges select qualified candidates.
Through JAMB CAPS, you can track your admission status and make decisions on any offers received.
Benefits of JAMB CAPS
JAMB CAPS makes the admission process fairer by:
- Improving transparency so that everyone understands the process.
- Reducing the risk of manual errors in admissions.
- Allowing institutions to make informed choices about candidates.
- Informing candidates about alternative courses when available.
- Ensuring equal opportunities for all applicants.
Schools can access the CAPS digital “marketplace” to select students who meet their admission criteria.
Key Actions on the JAMB CAPS Portal
JAMB CAPS allows you to:
- Accept or reject admission offers.
- Get real-time updates on admission status.
- Upload O-Level results if necessary.
If you accept an offer, other institutions will not consider you for admission, but if you decline, you can still receive offers from other institutions.
