According to the African Development Bank’s latest Macroeconomic Performance and Outlook report, the top 5 African countries leading in economic growth are:-

1. Niger

With an impressive growth rate of 11.2% in 2024, Niger tops the list of fastest-growing economies in Africa.

2. Senegal

Senegal follows closely with a growth rate of 8.2% in 2024, driven by strategic investments and economic diversification.

3. Libya

Libya’s economy is expected to grow at 7.9% in 2024, supported by its oil-rich economy and efforts to stabilize the country.

4. Rwanda:

Rwanda’s growth rate is projected to reach 7.2% in 2024, driven by investments in key sectors and economic diversification.

 5. Côte d’Ivoire:

Côte d’Ivoire’s economy is expected to grow at 6.8% in 2024, supported by strong agricultural production and infrastructure development.

Other notable mentions include

– East Africa: Expected to lead Africa’s growth momentum with a growth rate of 5.1% in 2024 and 5.7% in 2025.

West Africa: Projected to grow at 4% in 2024 and 4.4% in 2025, driven by strong growth in most countries in the region.
