The Senate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, at its 233rd special meeting held today, Thursday, 15th May 2025, nominated three (3) distinguished professors for consideration by the University Governing Council for appointment as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
Following an election process, the Senate nominated the following; Professor Au Nnonyelu (Ist), Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi (2nd), and Professor Ada Sam-Omenyi (3rd) as candidates for the role.
The names of the nominees have been forwarded to the Governing Council, for consideration and appointment of one of the nominees as Acting Vice-Chancellor to take over from Prof Joseph I. Ikechebelu whose tenure ends on 19th May 2025.
The University community and the public will be duly informed once the Council reaches its final decision.
