ICM is looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is eager to learn, take ownership, and grow into a future project leadership role. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers, engineers, construction leaders, vendors, subcontractors, and customers while building the skills needed to manage projects from concept through closeout.

At ICM you will be part of a team that values innovation, humility, ownership, collaboration, and stewardship. You will learn how industrial projects come together, contribute to meaningful work in the biofuels and renewable energy industries, and develop a career path with room to advance.

POSITION: Assistant Project Manager

WHY ICM?

We believe great work happens when people are trusted, challenged, and supported. Our teams work with integrity, serve customers with excellence, and collaborate across disciplines to solve complex problems. If you are driven, curious, and ready to grow, ICM offers an environment where you can develop technical knowledge, project leadership skills, and confidence in the field and office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•    Support Project Managers in the execution and delivery of projects through coordination of personnel, resources, and project activities.

•    Assist with the development and maintenance of project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and reporting tools.

•    Prepare and distribute project documentation including meeting minutes, action item logs, procurement trackers, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and status reports.

•    Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Accounting, and other departments to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

•    Assist in obtaining quotations, preparing bid packages, evaluating proposals, and coordinating procurement activities.

•    Track equipment, material, and subcontractor deliveries to support project schedules and field requirements.

•    Participate in customer, vendor, subcontractor, and internal project meetings and document key decisions and action items.

•    Support contract administration activities, including tracking scope changes, maintaining change order logs, and assisting with customer notifications.

•    Monitor project costs and commitments and assist with monthly budget reviews and forecasting activities.

•    Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports for management and customers.

•    Assist with project startup, commissioning, punch list management, and project closeout activities.

•    Support warranty issue documentation and resolution efforts as directed by the Project Manager.

•    Maintain project records and ensure proper document management practices are followed.

•    Promote safe work practices and help ensure project activities are completed in accordance with contract requirements, project specifications, company procedures, and safety standards.

•    Escalate project risks, schedule concerns, budget issues, and resource constraints to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

•    Develop an understanding of ICM project management processes, tools, and best practices in preparation for advancement into a Project Manager role.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN:

  • Exposure to industrial construction and engineering projects from planning through closeout.
  • Mentorship from experienced Project Managers and cross-functional leaders.
  • Hands-on experience with schedules, budgets, procurement, customer communication, documentation, and field coordination.
  • A defined path to build the skills needed to advance into a Project Manager role.
  • A culture that values ownership, humility, collaboration, innovation, stewardship, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
