We look forward to speaking with you.Why you'll love working here:Competitive benefits and personal and leadership development programs to support your career growthEmployee 20% discount program at Chewy for all your pet needsWe have a culture of belonging where you will feel valued for your skills and contributions and be recognized for your dedication and hard work.We'll empower you to build, grow, and unleash your full potentialWhat you'll do:Acquire accurate materials or chemicals as taughtPerform general non-sterile compounding duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacistAffix appropriate labels to final prescription productCompound medication or chemicals into proper dosage forms safely and accuratelyUse of electronic compounding softwareOperate and maintaining complicated pharmacy equipmentMonitor compounding environment and maintain and update pharmacy logsSupervise inventory needsClean the compounding area daily and as neededRespect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAAAnswer and referring customer questions as appropriateMaintain quality assuranceMaintains a familiarity and compliance with compounding standards, including USP < 795 > and < 800 > Understands and follows all Standard Operating ProceduresManages time well to allow for periods of great volume and rush ordersEffectively connect with customers and all staff membersMaintain a positive and friendly demeanorAny other responsibilities as deemed vital that is within the scope of a pharmacy technicianCompounding team members may be exposed to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds (some are classified as hazardous and/or toxic by the National Institute for Safety and Health and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals)Other duties as assignedWhat you'll need:Be at least 18 years old and have the appropriate licensure in the state of the pharmacy you are working at, and other states and credentials as requiredTechnician experience in any pharmacy setting is preferredStrong math skillsRequired to undergo respirator fit testing - Full beards or a lot of facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respiratorMust be capable to undergo N95 respirator fit testing with an outside vendor. Full beards or a lot of facial hair may prevent a proper seal for the respiratorMust have the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentMust not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions against any state license or certification as it relates to the job activities and responsibilities listed hereinMust be capable of working with small, delicate pieces of expensive machinery to complete appropriate dosage forms in a timely mannerMust have visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perceptionThe ability to lift at least 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking; for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to wear required PPE for long periods of time when requiredAble to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controlsChewy is an equal opportunity employer.
