DevOps Engineer

Apex has an opportunity for a DevOps Engineer that can sit Remote. Here are the details:

Position: DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote

Rate: Negotiable based on experience

Duration: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Position Description:

We are seeking a talented software automation engineer to design and maintain a testing suite for a cloud based serverless application and accompanying mobile application. In this role, the automation engineer will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications, along with designing and maintaining automated tests to validate their performance. To ensure success as a software automation engineer, the candidate should have advanced programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent project management skills.

• Join a development team to perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing with a focus on C#/.NET Core and/or Java Spring Boot
• Own the build/deploy/release process and find ways to automate and improve our pipeline at every step
• Design reusable components, frameworks, and libraries
• Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance
• Participate in an Agile / Scrum / Kanban methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks
• Mentor and guide other software engineers within the team
• Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enable team velocity
• Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team
• Writing automation scripts and implementing software applications.
• Troubleshooting automation software and finalizing system procedures.
• Identifying quality issues and creating test reports.

Required Skills:

• GitHub Actions Experience or related experience with CI/CD pipelines
• LaunchDarkly Experience for Feature Flag Management
• AWS CDK Experience for Serverless Deployment
• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software in a scaled distributed environment (preferably in public cloud - AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• 2+ years of experience with .NET Web Development (.NET Core, C# + HTML/CSS/JS) or similar languages
• 2+ years of experience with Java Web Development (Java + HTML/CSS/JS) or similar languages
• 2+ years maintaining complex automated testing suites for a multi-layer application
• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases and Docker (Microsoft SQL Server & DynamoDB preferred)
• Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical colleagues
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field OR related practical experience
• Commitment to quality, performance, and efficiency
• Good project management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
